What the visit looks like

When you contact registration, share the test or panel name or your doctor's recommendation. Some tests need a specific sample or additional consent.
Before collection you will be told whether fasting is required, the best time to attend and whether an additional sample is needed.
After collection the sample goes to ALAB for analysis and results can be collected online. If a specialist ordered the test, discuss it during your visit.
Preparation
Guidance differs for full blood count, hormone tests, urine, swabs and specialist panels. We confirm practical details before collection.
Many blood tests are best taken in the morning while fasting. Specific guidance depends on the marker being measured.
Do not stop medication on your own. Tell staff what you take, especially for hormone and monitoring tests.
Bring ID and a doctor's recommendation if the test follows a consultation or earlier diagnostics.
Some tests require urine, stool, a swab or another sample type. Confirm collection method and container before your visit.
